Shirodhara for Calm, Restful Sleep and Mental Clarity
Shirodhara is a classical Ayurvedic therapy in which a steady stream of warm, carefully selected oil flows over the forehead. The gentle rhythm and quiet setting are designed to encourage deep relaxation and help the mind slow down after prolonged stress.
When is Shirodhara considered?
An Ayurvedic physician may include Shirodhara in a personalised plan for disturbed sleep, mental fatigue, stress or recurring tension. The oil, duration and number of sessions are selected after considering the individual constitution, current symptoms and season.
What happens during a session?
The therapy begins in a peaceful room with comfortably warmed oil. The stream is guided in a measured pattern while the guest rests. After the session, quiet time and simple dietary guidance may be advised so the body can settle gradually.
A personalised approach matters
Shirodhara is most useful when it forms part of a complete Ayurvedic assessment rather than being treated as a standard spa ritual. At Krishna Ayurvedam, every plan begins with a consultation to decide whether the therapy is appropriate and how it should be combined with daily routine, food and herbal support.
